Many less savory technqiues attempt to dominiate or takeover a niche by utilizing a variety of techniques that work short term, that are utilized by entreprenuers who are simply out to extort as much cash quickly from people and give in return, questionable products and services. Getting keyword or keyword phrase backlinks from other authority sites like Squidoo will also get you traffic as well as high page rank and positing in the search engines.

Adding to the original content so that the site becomes more of an authority site and less of a one-shop or spammy affair.

Utilizing subheads in the content that is relevant to the main copy.

The list goes on and on, but in terms of keywords and keyword phrases, these are just some of the basics to get you started.
